Sonambulo, the Psicotropical band, was formed in 2006, based in Costa Rica, the band merges Afro, traditional Latin American and modern rhythms with a contemporary sound, predominating among them a blend of urban dance rhythms. Its members come from different parts of Latin America: Costa Rica, Colombia, Cuba and El Salvador, consequently establishing a rich cultural mix.
The discography of Sonámbulo includes "A Puro Peluche", the first full-length album, in 2009. It was awarded by the Costa Rican Association of Musical Authors (ACAM) in 2009 as “Best Tropical Artist” of the year. In 2014, the band released "Psicosonorama", their second LP, thanks to which the band was also awarded by the same association as “Best Latin Fusion” artist of 2014.
In July 2018, its third production "Domitila y su Jardin" is released. The EP is the first volume of a series chapters that shape a musical tale that the band in currently producing.
Sonambulo has participated in all the major festivals of Costa Rica such as the Transitarte, International Festival of Arts (FIA), Imperial Festival, Palmares Festival, SwiCh Festival, Envision Festival, Jungle Jam, Caricaco, BioFestival and others.
International Festivals: Circulart - Colombia 2014, FIM PRO - Guadalajara, Mexico 2014, Empire Music Festival - Guatemala 2014, Austin City Limits - USA 2012, Festival de Calaveras - Aguas Calientes and Festival Ometeotl - Mexico 2012, Pole Pole Festival - Belgium 2011 and Antilliaanse Feesten - Belgium 2011.
In 2019, Sonambulo performs in the "Mexico Psicotropical" tour in March, and also performs at the SXSW in Austin, Texas, and some festivals in Costa Rica.
In 2020, after playing at the Envision Festival, several concerts will be held in streaming format, including one for the celebration of World Environment Day in the Sala Magna, of the University of Costa Rica.
During the year 2021, the band takes some time to individually explore new experiences.
During 2025, they receive the ACAM Award in the category of Single in Traditional/Folk Music, with their song 'Sangre Pujagua'.
That same year, the band also records their 4th studio album.
In April 2026, their fourth album "Lujo de Barrio" is released. A fresh sound of the band.

Sonámbulo es una agrupación Psicotropical, de música original, que nace en el año 2006 fusionando ritmos afro, latino americanos tradicionales y modernos con un sonido contemporáneo, predominando entre ellos los ritmos bailables y de descarga. Sus integrantes provienen de Costa Rica, Colombia, Cuba y El Salvador, dando lugar a una rica mezcla cultural.
La discografía de Sonámbulo Psicotropical incluye "A Puro Peluche", el primer disco de larga duración en el año 2009 y por su trabajo la agrupación fue premiada por la Asociación Costarricense de Autores Musicales (ACAM) como Mejor Artista Tropical del año. En el año 2014, lanza el álbum "Psicosonorama", que también fue galardonado por la misma asociación como Mejor Artista Fusión Latina.
En el año 2018, se lanza en Julio su tercera producción “Domitila y su Jardín”, un cuento, en formato EP, el cual representa el primer volumen de una serie que la agrupación prepara.
Sonámbulo ha participado en todos los grandes festivales de Costa Rica como el Transitarte,Festival Internacional de las Artes, Festival Imperial, Fiestas de Palmares, Festival Sw!ch, Envision Festival, Jungle Jam, Caricaco, BioFestival y festivales universitarios.
Festivales Internacionales: Circulart - Colombia 2014, FIM PRO - Guadalajara, Mexico 2014, Empire Music Festival - Guatemala 2014, Austin City Limits - USA 2012, Festival de Calaveras - Aguas Calientes y Festival Ometeotl - México 2012, Pole Pole y Antilliaanse Feesten en Bélgica 2011, así como en icónicos escenarios como el Zócalo en la capital Mexicana 2012.
En el 2019, realizan la gira "Mexico Psicotropical" y se presentan en el Festival SXSW en Austin, Texas, así como en varios festivales de Costa Rica.
En el 2020, luego de tocar en el Festival Envision, se realizan varios conciertos en formato streaming, entre ellos uno para la celebración del día mundial del ambiente en la Sala Magna, de la Universidad de Costa Rica.
Durante el año 2021, la banda toma un tiempo para explorar a nivel individual nuevas experiencias.
Durante el año 2025, recibe el premio ACAM en la categoría de Sencillo en Música Tradicional/Folclórica, con su canción
"Sangre Pujagua".
Además durante este año se graba el 4to álbum de estudio de la banda.
En abril 2026, se lanza su cuarto álbum "Lujo de Barrio". Un sonido fresco de la banda.
